The ultimate goal of IBMSC investments is to ensure sustainable domestic capacity. This requires companies to think creatively about supply chains and utilize free-market principles for growth. In that vein, U.S. Medical Glove now produces their own raw materials to create their gloves, ensuring the final product is 100% made in the United States. U.S. Medical Glove’s newest production plant is the only one in North America producing polyisoprene latex (PI) that meets ISO 9000 standards. PI produced here is used in the production of premier surgical gloves and other medical products, such as surgical balloons and probe covers. This move by U.S. Medical Glove will eliminate dependency on surgical gloves from Southeast Asia, with the plant’s current output convertible into 60 million pairs of premium surgical gloves annually.

The partnership between IBMSC and U.S. Medical Glove highlights the transformative impact of strategic investments needed in the domestic manufacturing world. The company’s innovative approaches, self-sustainable practices, and rapid growth demonstrate the potential for the U.S. to reclaim its position as a leader in personal protective equipment production. This award spotlights one of many exciting opportunities as IBMSC actualizes on its commitment to ensuring the health and safety of U.S. citizens while fostering economic development.
